Virtual Forum Theater Lab

The Virtual Theater Forum lab will base its activities on the methodological practice of the virtual exchanges, which consists of sustained person-to-person education programs or activities, enabled by technology, in which constructive communication and interaction takes place between individuals or groups that are geographically separated and/or from different cultural backgrounds, with the support of educators or facilitators.
Therefore, the Virtual Forum Theater Lab will be a virtual communication channel that will favor among its participants a collective learning space based on their interactions and exchanges around the practical application of the forum theater methodology to design performances that address the problems originated in digital environments as a strategy for the promotion of mental health in youth.
The Virtual Theater Forum Lab foresees the involvement of a pilot group made up of actors and youth workers. The partner organizations of the project will convene and select 6 participants from each country (total 42) to be trained through a series of Virtual Exchanges in the forum theater methodology facing the threats of the digital environment.
The Virtual Theater Forum Lab will carry out 7 virtual exchanges in which each of the phases of the Forum Theater methodology will be developed:
1. Identification, analysis and discussion of critical situations.
2. Choice of the critical themes to represent through the forum theater.
3. Design of the theatrical staging on the critical situations identified.
4. Proposal of games, exercises and activities.
5. Delineation of the characters.
6. Creation of the dialogue (text).
7. Audience at the forum theater.
Once the Virtual Forum Theater lab is over, the participants will make a compilation of the stage performances developed so that they can be included in the project methodology handbook and will also propose them to different entities so that they can be staged in real contexts.
